Students can expect to receive a preliminary credit evaluation prior to their three-week enrollment deadline. Once a transfer applicant has been accepted, the Office of Undergraduate Admission will initiate the process of credit evaluation. Please note that supplemental application materials, such as those for the Bienen School of Music, may have separate deadlines. Students who apply by March 15 are more likely to receive a decision from us earlier, but we will give full consideration to all applications, with a guaranteed decision by the end of May. The project is the first P3 partnership of its kind in the University of Illinois system. This project was financed by a private partner, Collegiate Housing Foundation, and is a combination of academic and student residence in a single building. The retail space is occupied by Starbucks. There are also several small group study rooms and open collaboration or individual work spaces, a tutoring center, along with computer stations, printers, and an IT helpdesk. In addition to the residential components, the more than 50,000 square feet of academic space, includes three large lecture halls featuring “turn to team” design elements and four classrooms that enable team based learning. The Academic & Residential Complex is LEED Gold certified by the US Green Building Council. Within the residential component, approximately 16,000 square feet features a fitness center, multiple social and/or gaming lounges, study lounges on each floor, laundry facilities, offices, and a tenth-floor sky lounge. The 10-story building provides residential accommodations for approximately 550 students in a traditional and semi-suite style environment. This new living-learning community located near Harrison and Morgan Streets is more than 151,000 square feet.
